Regional Youth Friendly Communities Grants

Six Wheatbelt Local Governments have successfully acquired funding to develop services, facilities and programs of importance for local youth.
Six of the nine regional local governments to share in $86,600 are from the Wheatbelt, the shires of Pingelly, Goomalling, Victoria Plains, Quairading, Dandaragan and Kondinin, full details below:

Youth Minister Tony Simpson said the State Government's Youth Friendly Communities grants program supported local governments to engage young people in the planning and development of their communities through the strategic community planning process.

Grants of up to $10,000 were made available for activities underpinned by the ten principles of youth friendly communities. These include support from local government councillors and staff, the development of partnerships and ownership and leadership by young people.
