Opening of Mobil Fresh Trading Co roadhouse

July 3, 2019

Hon Darren West MLC, representing Hon Alannah MacTiernan MLC, Minister for Regional Development; Agriculture and Food, officially opened the Mobil Fresh Trading Co roadhouse on the Great Eastern Hwy, near Northam on 12 October 2019.

The $10million facility has separate high flow fuel pumps for trucks, a truckies lounge with laundry facilities and a family restaurant with a view offering Sandwich Chefs carvery, salads and freshly made rolls and sandwiches.

The roadhouse is Stage 1 of a broader plan by Procon Developments, supported by the Shire of Northam, to create a major road/rail intermodal precinct for regional, state and east-west freight. Stage 2 will incorporate the Main Roads WA Road Train Assembly Area, truck wash and workshops on Yilgarn Avenue. At completion, the project will create over 100 construction jobs and 20 permanent jobs.
